That Little Girl - By: Brianna-Marie Funk

You say I must grow up.

but I want to be that little girl,

playing in meadows, and in the trees.

But you say stay young enjoy life,

go play in the grass don't worry honey

just say sorry but now that little girl is depressed.

Not knowing what shall come tomorrow, the pressure to get good grades or to fit in just want to be that little girl again with little to no worries except who I'm playing with at recess.

Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.

That one feeling that you have to be that little girl again and play outside in the rain or sun is normal and we all feel it.

Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.

I've always kinda struggled growing up and leaving behind old friends then making new ones so this was my way of explaining it.

Why did you choose to write this poem?

I needed closure of losing contact my family because I asked for some space.

Do you have any tips or anything to share with the youth writers who may be reading this?

Go for it dream big and put it on the page.
