gushing flooding

trapped in your gaze

and it slips away once again

trying

pleading

layers of me

you see the most

obvious flaws

can see yet blind

overpowering

entranced

dreams they fade

The meaning of this poem is that there is no meaning. Life is chaotic and I wrote this free verse to symbolise that every time you feel that you have / know something, it slips away from your grasp and you are pulled into the darkness and noise once again. Thank you for this opportunity.

Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.

I felt like, however unsure my life is right now, in essence, everyone is feeling the same way. My main thought was that we are all united in the sense that no one knows what will happen next.

Why did you choose to write this poem?

I love ways to channel my inner emotions, not talking to people, but rather expressing through arts. It just makes me feel heard, without judgment, and in the end, that is what everyone really needs.

If you are reading this, just know that everything comes together in the end. Whether you know it or not, you are right where you’re supposed to be, so keep trying, find your spark, and push through the darkness.
