She Was Born - By: Riddhi Barot

She was born.

She was born in many places.

She is still born everywhere.

Here and there.

The joy that they feel.

Or whatever writers describe it as.

Time passed.

So did she,

Now all grown up.

A woman to be married.

She has desires

But they don’t matter

Modernity has set its standards.

Beauty is the first rule.

Literacy the second.

Gracefulness a must.

Hell was life

Trying to look like heaven.

She was born.

Again,

A woman need to be married.

A fury full of flames

Unfulfilled dreams.

A determination to complete.

She was born, Again.

Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.

It is poem based on women/girl modern descrimination. It is the 21st century and there is no such thing as men and women being different in positions, equality etc... but this poem talks about the thing still happening all over the world that is quite hard to notice as the world is advancing and fast paced with a mask of modernity on it.

Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.

I picked up a pen and paper and just started jotting down what came to my mind while thinking about this topic, without any influence on my raw and honest view, That's it.

Why did you choose to write this poem?

It was something I felt like I should address.
