Shared Orange with a Lost Angel - By: Lidya Wanis

One day I was with my

the best and only friend

As we were sitting in her yard

sharing an orange

I felt loved and connected in that moment

I wrote her a letter once

About how much she means to me

And a thank you for everything

The day I lent her that letter I never

Ever saw her again

she left, she disappeared

My only wish was to remember

what I wrote her

What were my last words?

To a lost angel.

To a lost best friend.

To someone who loved me truly.

Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.

I used to live in Kurdistan Iraq I lived in war and I never made meaningful friendships or connections as a kid except for this one friend I had her name was Marry she was most likely now dead but I used to drag her to my grandma's house to each fruit and we always shared oranges so to me it has been times of love.

Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.

I like to be in a peaceful mindset and remember and recall parts of my life and ask myself 'what do i want to show the world what's something i went through i want to tell the word?' through asking myself questions poems and ideas form !

Why did you choose to write this poem?

something to remember my first friendship a piece of writing to honor and remember those times.
