Saved By The Lord - By: Noa Brohin

I was lost

Abandoned

Broken

Keeled over

Crying

Destroyed

God found me

He took me by the hand

Lifted me up

Higher, higher

A light through the darkness

He showed me the way

As the dark begins to descend

I do not cower

I do not break

Look toward the light

I pray

The past is a lesson

I have hope for the future

A life full of faith

Do not look back

Anyone can be saved

Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.

The main idea of this poem is that there IS light at the end of the tunnel. Do not give up, keep your head up, stay determined. Pray for guidance from the Lord because He will always have your back, no matter what.

Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.

While writing this poem I wanted to create something that others could relate too, so they know that they aren't alone, and that there is a solution. Being stressed in life is a common occurrence, so I took inspiration from it.

Why did you choose to write this poem?

During stressful times in my life; especially during test season in school; it's very easy to begin feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and drained. Praying and just talking to God helped me find peace in my life.

Do you have any tips or anything to share with the youth writers who may be reading this?

Never give up, always keep writing, and accept feedback that is given to your writing; but don't take it to heart because you aren't being judged, your writing is.
