Hey Gramma - By: Madison

Hey Gramma

Look at me now!

All grown up, I shall not dare frown.

Your fierce claws rip away my earliest memories.

You stack bricks upon my family's weakening backs.

You yank us down,

Sending us toppling to the ground.

One day you'll look to me and be proud.

To be quite frank

My redden face, stained with tears

Appears to be because of you.

I stare at my ceiling thinking to my faint heart,

"Hey Gramma! Look at me now."

Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.

My Grandma on my dads has always been just awful to our family. We are always expected to be so joyful around her even when she is awful. This isn't the greatest poem but it's true.
