I am so bored,
I am bored today,
Because I can't go
Outside and play.
I tap my feet,
I sigh and yawn,
I wish this boredom
Would be gone!
But then I find
A book to read,
A game to play -
That’s what I need!
Now I'm not bored,
Not bored at all,
Fun can happen,
Big or small!
Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.
My 6 year old wrote this poem in her winter hoildays, I guess winters are all about indoor activities/games and when i asked her to write anything that she felt today, She came up with this poem. Main idea i see was to tell herself that its okay to be bored.
Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.
During the winter holidays, I asked my 6-year-old to write about how she felt that day — and she surprised me with this sweet little poem. It beautifully captures a child's honest feeling of boredom and how she learns to shift that into fun through simple activities. I love how she’s telling herself that it’s okay to feel bored sometimes — and that joy can be found in small things.
Why did you choose to write this poem?
She was feeling really bored that day. It was too cold to go outside and play, so I wanted to write about how she felt.
