Dance through the woods
Beautiful creature
Sing that song as you twirl
Skipping off the path
Smiling and laughing
Such a wonderful sight
A wonderful sound
The birds chirping
But you don't care
Throw your hands up in the air
Eyes closed
Face of bliss
This is where you truly belong
I'm sure of it
Don't know where you're going
But it doesn't really matter
You wouldn't care if you got lost anyway
The forest would help you find your path
But only if you want
It might help you hide
Help you get lost
You don't even need to ask
Just a smile and it wouldn't want to let you go again
Beautiful creature
Your joy awakens mine
How i wish i was like you
Reaching out to the vines
Your head in the flowers
Moving mindlessly
Ignorant of time
Sweet dancer
Beautiful creature
Nothing could break your spirit
And let it stay that way
Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.
It's about someone who is free and in tune with nature, whether that's a friend, a lover or even a fairy in the woods. They are comfortable and at peace with themselves, and that makes them truly beautiful. The narrator is almost jealous of their ease.
Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.
I decided to write from the point of view of a person who is watching someone at peace just living their life and they could be interpreted as being jealous. I wanted it to sound like it could go on a beat and become a song.
Why did you choose to write this poem?
I felt trapped with my daily life and wanted to leave it all behind. This helped me express my longing for escape, freedom and nature.
Do you have any tips or anything to share with the youth writers who may be reading this?
Express yourself however you want and don't ever let anyone tell you that it's strange or wrong. There is no right way to feel or think.
I just wanted to say how beautiful this poem is ❤️
