Phones - By: Shaaz Mahmood

I live near the shore

Where people are trolled,

Because everyone scrolls

About their life on the phones,

Funny to think u are alone,

And all u have shown is hope,

Broken down by the mirror to your face,

Prickle to your nape,

It becomes a shadow of a snake

Ready to poison and shake,

Smell so strong,

Like a shark ready to hunt it’s prey,

Leaving nothing but broken parts

Which cannot be put together,

A man left alone,

Hoping to have some time with thoughts,

Cause all is left are thoughts,

And I live near the shore

Where people are trolled,

Because everyone scrolls

About their life on the phones,

Sadly u are alone.

Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.:

The main idea of the poem is looking at how the character of a person is broken by the increasing use of social media, and how it is causing people to feel hurt. The life of social media is all about how much a person can fake it, and a popular saying in today’s world, “fake it till you make it”. There are different meanings to the saying mentioned.
