In a world of aspiration, she towers,
Yet the merciless mirror mumbles lies,
Causing her to tumble.
Misunderstood was she,
Her reflection’s askew,
different from what others see
A question arises: “Is that really you?”
Upon a closer look, she sees
Thighs, chafing and jiggling, causing her to cry,
Sad eyes mirror the struggles she hides inside.
A silent war set forth, body and mind,
Dysmorphia’s illusions, unkindly intertwined.
Battles erupt in the mind’s arena.
Confidence withers like the wind turning the page.
Yet a light is bright within her; a quiet strength resides; A rigid soul, where hope resides.
