Ancora, latin word for anchor
A person, a holistic environment
A person for me, one who causes malice
Yet disguises it as sweetness
Id played along knowing
the sweetness was bitter
Ancora, a word in latin
A word translated in enlish
Just like them, a personality
Needing translation just for a
simple sample of communication
Ancora, dragging you
Holding on to you
Pretending to do good
just so you can stay
Not for their benefit
But not for yours either
And that's all they need
Ancora, an invisible one
Shackled to your feet
To your mind
There to plunge you into water
Until it is above your head
Ancora, latin word for anchor
Anchor, english word for them
Please give a detailed explanation about the meaning and main idea of this poem.
The poem shows that even the loved ones who you thought missed you or were holding you back for a reason was just to simplify their needs. To be mean that's all their doing, sometimes those peoples have a mentality that dosent let them realize what they are doing. The poem emphasizes to stay away from them and go wherever you wished to.
Please explain your writing and thought process regarding this poem.
My poems don’t begin with an idea; they begin with a pressure point. A bruise. A memory that still has heat. I choose a symbol and let it carry the weight ( ancora ),
I write in waves, not lines, my stanzas are breaths. I then end the poem with a shift.
Why did you choose to write this poem?
For awareness to myself and as a warning of what will happen when the anchor drops so low you wont be able to get yourself back.
Do you have any tips or anything to share with the youth writers who may be reading this?
